Pickle Pot

I have been searching for a one gallon ceramic pot to make pickles in for a while now. So when class first started (before we were allowed to throw) I decided to make a crock, a lid and an invention. What I invented is the pickle pusher downer. this device is intended to keep the cukes below the brine while curing (notice it in the pic). Do you recognize it from another post? I made this nice design of a tree on the front and slip colored it but that, once again, got covered up by the infamous opaque glaze syndrome. Also it cracked in the final fire so is not usable as intended but will make a great planter. The prongs on the pusher downer are tall so the whole immersed part could be fully glazed. They also add weight and a visual interest.
